I experimented with newspaper as a background for pastel.  Liking the results I was getting, I decided to make a print of the paper so that I had better control over newspaper's tendency to yellow.  This also meant that I could crumple it and still be able to have a flat surface to work on.  I like it and I have some great ideas for more.
