Memorabilia Workshop...Mother's Day, Father's Day...or any memory
May 1-2, 2010 9:30 to 4:30 Saturday and Sunday Maximum 8 students
Class Fee: $170 taxes included
Rather than everyone doing my demo project, we will design one specifically for each student along the lines of my Little Wooden Box Series. I would ask that each of you bring along 5 to 10 small items reminiscent of a period of time or person that means something special to you. We will arrange some or all of these objects in and around a 3" x 4.5" wooden box and photograph them for you to paint. If you have a special box, this could be incorporated instead or if you wish to do your own set up at home, please feel free to. I also have several projects ready to go for those who might desire to paint from my resources and not set up their own.
For those who wish to save time or to concentrate only on learning to manipulate pastels, large prints can be made for transferring to your paper. There will be a nominal charge for this to pay for the printer inks.
Not only will you receive some instruction in the process I use to set up and photograph my resources but will end up with a painting that will be treasured by future generations.
| All of the
boxes in my Little Wooden Box series contain this 3.x 4.5 box and if you
view them on my 'paintings' pages, it will give you an idea of
what might fit in that size of space.
Suggestions might include watches, brooches or other simple jewelry, small tools, fishing lures, pipes, sewing tools, toys, old photos, love letters (single or tied in a ribbon), glasses, school days souvenirs, or any other small item. Keep in mind your level of expertise to assist in determining the number and difficulty of objects, however, it is safer to bring too many than too few for us to choose from. If you have any questions about what might be appropriate, please just ask. |
